The mortgage delinquency rate for Birmingham dropped in February. According to CoreLogic, a research firm, the percent of mortgages that were 90 days or more delinquent fell from 7.48% to 6.72% compared to the same month last year.

At the same time, Birmingham's foreclosure rate continued to rise. The rate of foreclosure among outstanding mortgages rose from 1.51% last February to 1.97% this February.
